Knights of Columbus Honors Children in Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Contest

Posted on March 22, 2026March 22, 2026 by Richard Faulkner

Our Knights of Columbus council recently honored five children who took part in this year’s Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Contest. We were proud to celebrate their effort, creativity, and faith.

The Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Contest invites children to think about the true meaning of Christmas and express that message through art. Today, many parts of the season focus on shopping, decorations, and packed calendars. However, this program encourages children and families to pause and reflect on the birth of Jesus Christ. It also gives young people a chance to share their faith in a creative and meaningful way.

This year, five children participated in our local contest. Each child created a poster that reflected the message of Christmas in a personal way. Some of the artwork showed the Nativity. Others used symbols, color, and scenes that pointed back to Christ. Together, their posters offered a beautiful reminder that Christmas begins with the love of God made visible in Jesus.

During the presentation, we recognized each child for participating in the program. In addition, every participant received a certificate and an art kit. These gifts served as a small token of appreciation for the time, thought, and care each child put into his or her poster. More importantly, the recognition gave us a chance to encourage these young artists and thank them for sharing their talents.

The event was a joyful moment for everyone who attended. The children proudly held both their certificates and their artwork. Their smiles showed how much the recognition meant to them. Just as important, their work gave our parish community a chance to see the Christmas message through the eyes of children. That witness matters. Children often remind adults of simple truths that can get lost in the rush of the season.

Programs like Keep Christ in Christmas help build faith in the family and in the parish. They also connect children to the deeper meaning of holy days and seasons in the Church. When children create art based on their faith, they do more than complete a project. They reflect on the Gospel message. They also share that message with others. As a result, the contest becomes more than an art activity. It becomes a way to teach, encourage, and evangelize.

Our council is grateful for every child who participated. We also thank the parents and families who supported them along the way. Their encouragement helped make this year’s contest a success. In the same way, their support helps children grow in both faith and confidence.

The Knights of Columbus is proud to sponsor programs that strengthen families, support youth, and keep Christ at the center of our lives. This contest does exactly that. It promotes faith, creativity, and community all at once. We hope even more children will take part next year and continue this wonderful tradition.

Congratulations again to all five of our participants. Thank you for using your gifts to share such an important message with our parish community. Your artwork helped all of us remember what Christmas is truly about.

Congratulations again to all five participants on a job well done.
